But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Cunha couldn't finish the play. José Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesualdo Sesimbra having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, one of Corticada FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. João Marques placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 23rd minute, David Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jesualdo Sesimbra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Rui Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Guterres in the 25th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Kevin Guterres took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rui Martins to make any attempt to save it. Jesualdo Sesimbra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Gonçalves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 played minutes Torpedo de Mafamude FC got a freekick which was hit by Timóteo Rebocho. After a defensive mix-up in Torpedo de Mafamude FC's zone, David Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesualdo Sesimbra came out of the goal and David Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When David Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Corticada FC fans jumped to their feet. If José Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kevin Guterres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Martins having to interfere. David Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesualdo Sesimbra having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Kevin Guterres made the kick off in the second half. Kevin Guterres kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Jesualdo Sesimbra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Corticada FC's David Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rui Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Guterres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Torpedo de Mafamude FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Gonçalves came free, but Jesualdo Sesimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rui Martins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xavier Coutinho's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Máximo Novais hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute, António Matias sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Torpedo de Mafamude FC's Jesualdo Sesimbra didn't even have to move. In the 86th minute, David Gonçalves fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jesualdo Sesimbra, passed just outside the right post. In the 93rd minute, Vítor Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xavier Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
