In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Gemeos's goalkeeper Hermano Lousada, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of SC Macedinho booed when SC Gemeos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Baião didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herberto Vargas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Vladimiro Miranda made a huge save. Hildeberto Pimentel kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 20 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when SC Macedinho's Murilo Quadros fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 23 minutes into the match, Herberto Vargas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimiro Miranda. SC Macedinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herberto Vargas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. SC Macedinho's Vladimiro Miranda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save SC Macedinho from getting a goal against them. Anselmo Vasconcelos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hermano Lousada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Roriz in the 35th minute of play. Herberto Vargas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Vladimiro Miranda when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Herberto Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anselmo Vasconcelos to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herberto Vargas in the 55th minute of play forced SC Macedinho's goalkeeper Vladimiro Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, SC Gemeos's Zeferino Rebelo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vladimiro Miranda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SC Gemeos's Zeferino Rebelo got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Herberto Vargas struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Vladimiro Miranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Gemeos. If Herberto Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Macedinho's Murilo Quadros pulled a muscle in his back after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 79th match minute, SC Gemeos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrício Arruda to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in SC Macedinho's zone, Herberto Vargas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Miranda came out of the goal and Herberto Vargas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseu Baião charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseu Baião the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd minute, Caio Ornelas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Gemeos's Hermano Lousada didn't even have to move. When Joaquim Roriz came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the SC Macedinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Roriz couldn't finish the play. SC Macedinho's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
