In the 9thth minute of the game Alexandre Borges who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mourao's Afonso Lisboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fonseca in the 19th minute of play forced Mourao's goalkeeper Afonso Lisboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Borges succeeded in the game's 20th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Adolfo Pinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joel Henriques in the 23rd minute. In the 27th minute, Simão Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Mourao's zone, Alexandre Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Lisboa came out of the goal and Alexandre Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Carlos Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Purgacal FC's Oliveira Reis got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The audience was convinced that Carlos Mota's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adolfo Pinho was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. After the first half Purgacal FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Alexandre Borges made the kick off in the second half. Mourao's Joel Henriques got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 54 minutes in the game, Carlos Fonseca fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Afonso Lisboa having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Borges in the 54th minute of play forced Mourao's goalkeeper Afonso Lisboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Afonso Lisboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute Joel Henriques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th match minute, Mourao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Vale to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Fonseca succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 67th playminute. Mourao's Afonso Lisboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Mourao from getting a goal against them. Purgacal FC's Adolfo Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Henriques in the 80th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Carlos Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st match minute, Mourao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Mota to maneuver through the defense. Adolfo Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Henriques in the 83rd minute of play. Joel Henriques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adolfo Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Mota in the 90th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Purgacal FC's zone, Joel Henriques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Pinho came out of the goal and Joel Henriques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the match, Purgacal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Mota came free, but Adolfo Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Purgacal FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
