Armindo Pereira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celso Macena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Mariano Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laje's Celso Macena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Melo in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandro Nogueira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Alexandre Gueifão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lomar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Gueifão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Francisco Lisboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Lisboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Macena having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Sandro Nogueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laje's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lomar FC the free kick. Francisco Lisboa came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Celso Macena could save by the left post. Armindo Pereira might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Celso Macena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armindo Pereira ran back to his position shaking his head. Manuel Leiria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Celso Macena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Mariano Melo fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lomar FC's protests and gave Mariano Melo a yellow card for diving instead. 88 minutes into the match, Sandro Nogueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vicente Cardoso. Lomar FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sandro Nogueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 93 minutes into the match, Alexandre Gueifão dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Celso Macena, 1-3. After having played for 96 minutes, Alexandre Gueifão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lomar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Gueifão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lomar FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
