Simão Neto started the match with the kick off. João Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Bento having to interfere. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Courense FC's goalkeeper Vicente Bento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Afonso Lima fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Talhareses's protests and gave Afonso Lima a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Talhareses's Afonso Lima got a free kick in the 12th minute. João Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Bento having to interfere. If Joaquim Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gonçalo Assis fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Courense FC's protests and gave Gonçalo Assis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Courense FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gonçalo Assis hit a great ball. The supporters of Talhareses booed when Courense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albérico Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vicente Bento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Maia in the 22nd minute of the match. Joaquim Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Bento having to interfere. Alexandre Godinho kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. When Hermes Leal fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 47th match minute, Courense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simão Neto to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

52 minutes into the game when Luís Setúbal tried to clear up in front of the goal it happened that the ball rolled into goal via right pole. An extremely disappointing self made goal which led to 0-1. After recieving a nice pass, Courense FC's Silvestre Campos tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 63 played minutes Talhareses got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Almeida. Hermes Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vicente Bento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. João Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Bento having to interfere. Courense FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Joaquim Cunha 82 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. João Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Vicente Bento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Talhareses played a much better game than Courense FC and deserved their victory. The Courense FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
