Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) 0-1 became the score in the 5th minute when Henrique Jesus elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 12 minutes into the game, Henrique Jesus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Daniel Torres was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Canada's Jaime Guerreiro got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Alimonde's Filipe Cruz threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cândido Soares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 22nd minute, Bernardo Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Canada's zone, Cândido Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filipe Cruz came out of the goal and Cândido Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the match, Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Cândido Soares came free, but Filipe Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nuno Pinto charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Pinto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 27 played minutes Canada got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Pinto. In the 29th minute Cândido Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipe Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filipe Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cândido Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Henrique Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Alimonde's José Coimbra got a free kick in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the game, Jaime Guerreiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alimonde the free kick. A collision led to Canada getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Jaime Guerreiro hit a great ball. The supporters of Canada booed when Alimonde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henrique Jesus in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniel Torres saved Alimonde from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Henrique Jesus made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jorge Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filipe Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cândido Soares in the 53rd minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Fonseca came free, but Filipe Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Jaime Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canada's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Guerreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Torres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Jesus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Cruz having to interfere. The Alimonde fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Alimonde's Cândido Soares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Henrique Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Guerreiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Torres having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
