The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Guimarães got free with Amadeu Aleixo in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Clube Atlético Odivelas booed when Atilho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes Atilho got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Moura. Amadeu Aleixo made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Donato Guimarães sent off a good shot on target. In the 27th minute, Porfírio Silva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube Atlético Odivelas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Adolfo Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute of the match Egídio Lemos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amadeu Aleixo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Claudemiro Esteves took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Amadeu Aleixo to make any attempt to save it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuno Correia got free with Vasco Sanches in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amadeu Aleixo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 67th minute Porfírio Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Aleixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vasco Sanches stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nuno Correia's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Atilho's Afonso Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristiano Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Vasco Sanches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Durval Sobral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Atlético Odivelas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atilho the free kick. In the 95th minute, Durval Sobral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the match, Afonso Amorim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vasco Sanches. Clube Atlético Odivelas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Afonso Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Clube Atlético Odivelas had won after a very even match.
