An unexpected shot in the 11th minute by Tobias Garcez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 15th minute, Tobias Garcez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the SC Gafanha defense, Jarbas Lemos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delfim Morais. The SC Gafanha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delfim Morais should have stopped the shot. In the 26th minute, Óscar Alves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The SC Gafanha fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when SC Gafanha's Óscar Alves looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tobias Garcez made a kick off. Delfim Morais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarbas Lemos in the 56th minute of the match. Rodrigo Marques took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joel Jesus. Giz FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 63 minutes, Óscar Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Gafanha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Óscar Alves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óscar Alves in the 68th minute of play forced Giz FC's goalkeeper Joel Jesus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Jesus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Óscar Alves in the 70th minute of play. If Eduardo Assunção had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute.
