The audience was convinced that Catarino Leal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Veríssimo Ramalho was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. David Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidro Candal in the 12th minute of play. Heitor Coimbra hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. David Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidro Candal, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidro Candal in the 32nd minute of play forced Ourenta's goalkeeper David Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cláudio Fontes hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Ourenta's Albertino Borges took a good shot, in the 38th minute, which hit the crossbar above Veríssimo Ramalho's head, and flew over the goal. Trute's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Ourenta. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

56 minutes into the match, Ourenta's goal looked a bit too open when Isidro Candal came free, but David Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Veríssimo Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Catarino Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ourenta booed when Trute was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute of the match Albertino Borges sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Veríssimo Ramalho skillfully saved the ball. After 65 played minutes Trute got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Candal. Catarino Leal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Veríssimo Ramalho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Hermes Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albertino Borges took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Veríssimo Ramalho. Trute's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Joel Santarém cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Veríssimo Ramalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Filipe Lemos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Azevedo came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Trute's Isidro Candal. But to his dismay, Isidro Candal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. David Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidro Candal in the 95th minute of play.
