Benquerenca's players were relieved. If Sandro Bernardes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Benquerenca's zone, Diogo Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquilino Azevedo came out of the goal and Diogo Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sandro Bernardes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Gouveia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vítor Ferro having to make a save. 30 minutes into the match, Benquerenca's goalkeeper Aquilino Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diogo Magalhães. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandro Bernardes was the one to do the kick off. Vítor Ferro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Bernardes in the 54th minute of play. Aquilino Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Magalhães in the 57th minute of the match. Lucas Amaral's late challenge caught a Benquerenca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucas Amaral helped the player get up and apologised. Lucas Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Alfredo Gouveia in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vítor Ferro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cisterna's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sandro Bernardes 64 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Diogo Magalhães scored 2-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aquilino Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Vicente Magalhães fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cisterna's protests and gave Vicente Magalhães a yellow card for diving instead. 82 minutes into the match, Benquerenca's goal looked a bit too open when Diogo Magalhães came free, but Aquilino Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diogo Magalhães in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aquilino Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sandro Bernardes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Ferro having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Sandro Bernardes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vítor Ferro was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Vítor Ferro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Bernardes, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Benquerenca's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Cisterna had won, even though Benquerenca had held more of the ball.
