After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Tarcísio Sobral managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC LIPOO's supporters rose to their feet, but Tarcísio Sobral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, SC Penelas's Joaquim Pacheco got a free kick in the 18th minute. Filipe Gois, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. SC Penelas's Rui Gomes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tarcísio Sobral in the 22nd minute of play. Valério Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavier Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. When Dimas Sanches fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC LIPOO's protests and gave Dimas Sanches a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Penelas booed when FC LIPOO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dimas Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, André Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th match minute, FC LIPOO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentim Miguéis to maneuver through the defense. If Xavier Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dimas Sanches was shown his second yellow card after 37 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Dimas Sanches kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. André Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xavier Alves succeeded in the game's 41st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xavier Alves in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valério Ramos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Xavier Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Ramos having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xavier Alves was the one to do the kick off. Xavier Alves took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valério Ramos. Valério Ramos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0.
