In the 11th minute Quintino Águas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zarco Lamego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Sabrosa during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Donato Viveiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zarco Lamego having to interfere. Zarco Lamego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Quintino Águas's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Fc Porto's Zarco Lamego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Fc Porto from getting a goal against them. Januário Madruga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severino Vasques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The Giestosa FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
