After having played for 8 minutes, Domingos Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malhadais FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Vaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 9th match minute, Malhadais FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Malhadais FC's zone, Bernardo Campos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Álvaro Guarda came out of the goal and Bernardo Campos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute, Paulo Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21stth minute of the game Domingos Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Cascalhal's Paulo Guerreiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bernardo Campos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Francisco Machado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Guerreiro was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Valente to make the kick off. Paulo Valente kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the game, SC Cascalhal's Paulo Valente nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Álvaro Guarda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Diogo Leiria fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Cascalhal's protests and gave Diogo Leiria a yellow card for diving instead. Malhadais FC's Sérgio Dantas shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 66th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Paulo Guerreiro but with some difficulty. 68 minutes into the match, Malhadais FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Campos came free, but Álvaro Guarda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alfredo Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Domingues hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Paulo Valente took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Álvaro Guarda. Álvaro Guarda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 95th minute Paulo Valente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Guarda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingos Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Guerreiro having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Cascalhal had won after a very even match.
