Alex Queiroga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amílcar Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th match minute, Lapela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurentino Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Amílcar Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Alex Queiroga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Igor Cerqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Covilha's António Martins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save SC Covilha from getting a goal against them. Graciano Vides's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but António Martins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Alex Queiroga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílcar Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Norberto Quaresma hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The Lapela FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Covilha were winning 0-1.

SC Covilha's Alexandre Dias was substituted for Américo Barbosa. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Igor Cerqueira was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Amílcar Rodrigues kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alex Queiroga. That made the score 0-2 in the 55 minute of play. António Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graciano Vides in the 61st minute of play. António Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Cerqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Igor Cerqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Amílcar Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the SC Covilha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amílcar Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. SC Covilha's António Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graciano Vides in the 71st minute of play.
