Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Melo FC's Veríssimo Rodrigues started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Heitor Dantas sped through Melo FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hermínio Sesimbra. Pedro Anjos made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Hermínio Varanda sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in SC Canaviais's zone, Hermínio Varanda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Anjos came out of the goal and Hermínio Varanda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rui Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 36 played minutes Melo FC got a freekick which was hit by Cassiano Vidigal. After a defensive mix-up in Melo FC's zone, Heitor Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermínio Sesimbra came out of the goal and Heitor Dantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Veríssimo Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Anjos having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Cassiano Vidigal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Melo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Canaviais the free kick. After 46 played minutes Melo FC got a freekick which was hit by Cassiano Vidigal. 48 minutes into the match, Melo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Heitor Dantas came free, but Hermínio Sesimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rui Viana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hermínio Sesimbra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Viana in the 53rd minute of the match. Heitor Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermínio Sesimbra having to interfere. Melo FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 60th minute, when Rui Viana scored to the left of an out of position Hermínio Sesimbra, making the score, 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Heitor Dantas got free with Hermínio Sesimbra in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 68 minutes of play, Melo FC's Veríssimo Rodrigues made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Anjos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Veríssimo Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the game, Álvaro Linhares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Melo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Canaviais the free kick. Álvaro Linhares hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Viana in the 93rd minute of play forced Melo FC's goalkeeper Hermínio Sesimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Viana in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hermínio Sesimbra saved Melo FC from getting behind. When Hermínio Varanda came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Melo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermínio Varanda couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Canaviais had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
