The audience was convinced that Jorge Henriques's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hermínio Sesimbra was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Henriques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hermínio Sesimbra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Henriques, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute, Dário Prestes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hermínio Sesimbra was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Joaquim Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Veríssimo Rodrigues in the 63rd minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Jorge Henriques cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Hermínio Sesimbra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Melo FC's Hermínio Sesimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Cortez in the 72nd minute of play. Hermínio Varanda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquim Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Melo FC were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after OS SADINOS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Diogo Menezes took the corner. After a defensive mix-up in OS SADINOS's zone, Veríssimo Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Reis came out of the goal and Veríssimo Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jorge Henriques came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the OS SADINOS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Henriques couldn't finish the play. 86 minutes into the match, OS SADINOS's goalkeeper Joaquim Reis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hermínio Varanda. Joaquim Reis made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Hermínio Varanda sent off a good shot on target. Joaquim Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Veríssimo Rodrigues in the 94th minute of play. If Hermínio Varanda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melo FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
