The goalkeeper, Adão Pimentel, was totally fooled by SC Olhao's Delfim Fernandes, who 12 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Assis in the 18th minute of play forced SC Fontelas's goalkeeper Adão Pimentel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Fontelas's Adão Pimentel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Assis in the 20th minute of play. Bernardo Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Bentes in the 21st minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Alfredo Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juliano Nóbrega struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

SC Olhao's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
