The supporters of Tecnos booed when Selimonos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egídio Zambujal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonso Morais made in the 44th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Tecnos's Fernando Jesus. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Paulo Matias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tecnos's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Matias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudemiro Trindade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When Paulo Matias came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Tecnos fans jumped to their feet. When Fernando Amorim, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 56 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Claudemiro Trindade was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Tecnos's goal looked a bit too open when Isidro Fagundes came free, but Paulo Resende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute Isidro Fagundes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Resende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudemiro Trindade was a little too slow when Fernando Amorim got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 0-1. After a rather tough play, Selimonos's Teófilo Antas got a free kick in the 70th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Amorim in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudemiro Trindade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Fernando Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teófilo Antas in the 76th minute of play forced Tecnos's goalkeeper Paulo Resende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Resende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amado Mourato in the 80th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 82nd minute by Fernando Jesus got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Paulo Miranda was extremely unlucky when he, in the 84th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Tecnos's Fernando Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudemiro Trindade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Amorim in the 87th minute of play. Fernando Amorim's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Claudemiro Trindade skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Fernando Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Claudemiro Trindade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
