In the 6th minute, António Festas fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tomás Pedroso, passed just outside the right post. Tomás Pedroso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adelino Pegado in the 9th minute. Adelino Pegado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Tomás Pedroso made a huge save. When Fernando Mota fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Apolentina's protests and gave Fernando Mota a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes SC Apolentina got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Mota. A collision led to iron krica getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ricardo Valverde hit a great ball. Cândido Ferro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Norberto Sanches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind iron krica's goalkeeper Norberto Sanches, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viriato Bento during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Norberto Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cândido Ferro in the 27th minute of play. Norberto Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cândido Ferro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Bernardo Ribeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Norberto Sanches. iron krica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernardo Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Cândido Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bernardo Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norberto Sanches read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th match minute, SC Apolentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Mota to maneuver through the defense. When António Festas came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the iron krica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Festas couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernardo Ribeiro made a kick off. In the 55th minute, SC Apolentina's Bernardo Ribeiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Norberto Sanches. Norberto Sanches yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. If António Festas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in iron krica's zone, Emílio Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norberto Sanches came out of the goal and Emílio Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Cândido Ferro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Apolentina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cândido Ferro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. During the 74th minute of the match Viriato Bento completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Viriato Bento a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 75 played minutes iron krica got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Bento. SC Apolentina's Bernardo Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. David Leão charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Leão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. David Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd match minute, SC Apolentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. iron krica's Adelino Pegado got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Norberto Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When SC Apolentina's Bernardo Ribeiro in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bernardo Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Norberto Sanches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Apolentina walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
