Tomás Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Salvador Morais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Ferro in the 5th minute of play forced SCBraga's goalkeeper Salvador Morais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo Henriques was a little too slow when Artur Torres got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severiano Vital got free with Bernardo Henriques in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. The supporters of SCBraga booed when Gomariz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Leal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Gomariz's Basílio Ferro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Salvador Morais narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gentil Loureiro hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Tomás Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Vale took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Salvador Morais. Salvador Morais dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. With a little luck, Gomariz's Bernardo Henriques got control of the ball when Severiano Vital tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd minute Basílio Ferro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Morais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tomás Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Ferro in the 41st minute of play forced SCBraga's goalkeeper Salvador Morais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salvador Morais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Ferro in the 45th minute of play. Severiano Vitals short, quick shot in the 48thth minute got Bernardo Henriques to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Artur Torres was the one to do the kick off. Tomás Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bernardo Henriques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severiano Vital, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Tomás Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Basílio Ferro came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Gomariz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Ferro couldn't finish the play. Afonso Leal's late challenge caught a SCBraga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Leal helped the player get up and apologised. Afonso Leal hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Severiano Vital fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Henriques having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Tomás Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tomás Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Basílio Ferro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When SCBraga's Severiano Vital in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gomariz's goalie prevented a goal. Basílio Ferro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The SCBraga fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gomariz were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
