Ronaldo Tavares made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Manuel Martins sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as portugal's Duarte Araújo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ronaldo Tavares. That made the score 2-0 after 30 minutes of play. If Júlio Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Luz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Ronaldo Tavares made a huge save. Ronaldo Tavares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Martins in the 45th minute. If Júlio Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. Ronaldo Tavares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. portugal's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
