That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. After having played for 10 minutes, Jorge Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liverpool F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Ferreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adão Bulhosa during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th minute, one of Portela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Portela. The referee gave Liverpool F.C a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jorge Moreira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Portela's Cesário Bettencourt. 2-2. The Portela fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Portela's Laurentino Pinhal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vasco Freitas struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Cesário Bettencourt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool F.C. 31 minutes into the game, Júlio Santos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Cesário Bettencourt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. João Rego charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Rego the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Portela! The referee gave Liverpool F.C a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. Cesário Bettencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Ferreira's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Portela's Cesário Bettencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heitor Costa in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Liverpool F.C were leading 3-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Ferreira made a kick off. After 51 minutes of play, Liverpool F.C's Jorge Ferreira made it 3-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cesário Bettencourt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cesário Bettencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Ferreira in the 55th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 57 minutes into the game, when Vasco Freitas put in a rough tackle. 57 minutes into the game, one of Liverpool F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Adão Bulhosa shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 70 minutes into the match, Heitor Costa notched a goal, 3-6, to the right of Portela's Cesário Bettencourt. Cesário Bettencourt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Júlio Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Cesário Bettencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Heitor Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 85 minutes, Júlio Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
