Augusto Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nivaldo Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, Nivaldo Antunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Augusto Macedo. SC Chancuda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nivaldo Antunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Mirateca FC's Antero Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Alves in the 32nd minute of play. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mirateca FC's goalkeeper Antero Vieira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Cristóvão Faria notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Mirateca FC's Antero Vieira. Antero Vieira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Mirateca FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Mirateca FC's Rubim Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, António Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Mirateca FC's Nivaldo Antunes in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Chancuda's goalie prevented a goal. SC Chancuda's Cristóvão Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antero Vieira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Faria, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. If Nivaldo Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 played minutes SC Chancuda got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Nunes. Augusto Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nivaldo Antunes in the 80th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frederico Arruda during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SC Chancuda booed when Mirateca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mirateca FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
