SC Mortagua's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Álvaro Esteves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. António Viegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Cerqueira in the 28th minute of play. If Rui Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diamantino Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Fontes in the 34th minute of the match. Afonso Cerqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Viegas having to interfere. If Evandro Caneira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Benquerenca's António Viegas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save SC Benquerenca from getting a goal against them. The referee showed André Torres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Basílio Gentil shot from long distance in the 92nd minute, but António Viegas was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. When Rui Barcelos fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Mortagua's protests and gave Rui Barcelos a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 played minutes SC Mortagua got a freekick which was hit by Rui Barcelos. Rui Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Castro having to interfere. When the match was over SC Mortagua could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Benquerenca throughout the match.
