Virgílio Setúbal might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Borges. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Virgílio Setúbal ran back to his position shaking his head. Virgílio Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31stth minute of the game Virgílio Setúbal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Clareanes's Fernando Borges was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Jaime Águas fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Clareanes's protests and gave Jaime Águas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Serrela FC booed when SC Clareanes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Águas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vivaldo Lobato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Borges having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

A collision led to SC Clareanes getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jaime Águas hit a great ball. If Virgílio Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. Avelino Horta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimiro Marinho in the 65th minute of play. Avelino Horta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Furtado in the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 68 minutes, Vladimiro Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Clareanes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimiro Marinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Vladimiro Marinho came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the SC Clareanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimiro Marinho couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Setúbal in the 73rd minute of play forced SC Clareanes's goalkeeper Fernando Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Setúbal, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 86th match minute, Serrela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavo Valério to maneuver through the defense. SC Clareanes's Fernando Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgílio Setúbal in the 89th minute of play. Vivaldo Lobato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Borges having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Virgílio Setúbal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The SC Clareanes supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Serrela FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Serrela FC.
