With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bento Teixeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cláudio Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Bento Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bento Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademar Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Cláudio Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ademar Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bento Teixeira having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Ademar Nunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, SC Piedade's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Teixeira came free, but Bento Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Geraldo Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Piedade's supporters rose to their feet, but Geraldo Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josué Cortez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Samaioes's Josué Cortez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Samaioes from getting a goal against them. Rui Mourão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Cortez having to interfere. The supporters of SC Piedade booed when Samaioes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ademar Nunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 74th minute, Geraldo Melo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Josué Cortez was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Ademar Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the match, Samaioes's Cláudio Porto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bento Teixeira narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
