The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diego Anjos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Neto having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Alfredo Lopes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Santana was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When Avelino Martins came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the SC Rocheira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Avelino Martins couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Magros FC booed when SC Rocheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Patrício didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Santana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Rocha's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Jaime Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredo Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg José Santana managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Magros FC's Alfredo Lopes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Avelino Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. António Carneiro charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed António Carneiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Magros FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. António Carneiro hit a great ball. Alfredo Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Santana having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Anjos to make the kick off. Julião Guimarães's late challenge caught a Magros FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julião Guimarães helped the player get up and apologised. After 55 played minutes SC Rocheira got a freekick which was hit by Julião Guimarães. If Jaime Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, SC Rocheira's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Rocha came free, but José Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Anjos in the 69th minute of play forced Magros FC's goalkeeper Abel Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of SC Rocheira booed when Magros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viriato Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Rocheira's zone, Alfredo Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Santana came out of the goal and Alfredo Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaime Rocha in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Santana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Magros FC's Abel Neto got control of the ball when Avelino Martins tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Rocha in the 86th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Patrício in the 90th minute of play forced Magros FC's goalkeeper Abel Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 98th minute, SC Rocheira's Diego Anjos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1.
