Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rodolfo Tavares got the match started through his kick off. Ricardo Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 9 minutes, David Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Freiria FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Freiria FC's zone, Rodolfo Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Azevedo came out of the goal and Rodolfo Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mário Prates. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardo Almeida ran back to his position shaking his head. Mário Prates made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Almeida in the 25th minute of play. After some careless play in the Bica defense, Ricardo Almeida kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mário Prates. The Bica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mário Prates should have stopped the shot. Ricardo Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Freiria FC booed when Bica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Carmona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bica's Mário Prates played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Almeida in the 36th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, David Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 46 minutes, David Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The wind increased when Ricardo Almeida made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Bica's zone, Ricardo Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mário Prates came out of the goal and Ricardo Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Tavares in the 57th minute of play forced Freiria FC's goalkeeper Jorge Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 played minutes Freiria FC got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Mendes. In the 62nd minute of the match Durval Sacadura shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Azevedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 65 played minutes Bica got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Tavares. With a little luck, Bica's Mário Prates got control of the ball when David Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodolfo Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Jorge Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodolfo Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Bica getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Leal Pimenta hit a great ball. With a little luck, Bica's Mário Prates got control of the ball when David Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Almeida struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Mário Prates didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Freiria FC. If Ricardo Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Moniz during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jorge Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The Freiria FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
