SC Azurem's Vasco Horta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Gomes in the 7th minute of play. Ilídio Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 13 minutes, Ilídio Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. G.D. Vilacovense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ilídio Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Vasco Horta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They were losing 0-1.

If Paulo Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Paulo Gomes came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the G.D. Vilacovense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Gomes couldn't finish the play. Jarbas Dantas hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rubim Lopes during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Rubim Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute Rubim Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Vilar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SC Azurem booed when G.D. Vilacovense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcísio Águas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juliano Prada charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juliano Prada the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 86 played minutes G.D. Vilacovense got a freekick which was hit by Juliano Prada. Eliseu Sales kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Tiago Aleixo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Gaspar Telinhos, 91 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Tiago Aleixo hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Gomes in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vasco Horta saved SC Azurem from getting behind. If Paulo Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Carlos Carvalhal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The SC Azurem supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching G.D. Vilacovense's performance. The match ended with a win for G.D. Vilacovense.
