Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Paulo Paiva started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Cepos's Domingos Azevedo got a free kick in the 2nd minute. In the 6th minute, Eusébio Santarém hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Octávio Carneiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Duarte Reis made a huge save. Ivan Barbosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Jesus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isidoro Espírito Santo kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Ricardo Jesus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cepos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guimarães FC the free kick. After 13 played minutes Cepos got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Jesus. Duarte Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Guimarães FC's Paulo Paiva slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Duarte Reis. That made the score 1-0 after 16 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Guimarães FC's zone, Pedro Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Barbosa came out of the goal and Pedro Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 26 played minutes, Cepos's Domingos Azevedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivan Barbosa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cepos reached it. Ivan Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Tavares in the 28th minute of the match. Cepos were furious when Domingos Azevedo was red carded, 35 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cepos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! Marcelo Bettencourt shot from long distance in the 41st minute, but Duarte Reis was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Jorge Jesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ivan Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Octávio Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th match minute, Cepos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Jesus to maneuver through the defense. Guimarães FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcelo Bettencourt in the 50th minute. The corner led Guimarães FC's Marcelo Bettencourt to fire away a dangerous shot which Duarte Reis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorge Jesus to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Guimarães FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jorge Jesus fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jorge Jesuss short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Ivan Barbosa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Paulo Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 69 played minutes Cepos got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Jesus. Jorge Jesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Barbosa having to interfere. If Joaquim Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Jesus who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Ivan Barbosa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Jorge Jesus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cepos's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Jesus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jorge Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Jesus who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Ivan Barbosa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Guimarães FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cepos for a fine match.
