An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Castro in the 8th minute of play forced Obrais's goalkeeper Teófilo Durães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Adão Liberato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Inácio Ferreira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, Teófilo Durães skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Joaquim Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Inácio Ferreira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teófilo Durães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. When Adão Liberato came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Obrais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adão Liberato couldn't finish the play. If Hamilton Corte-Real had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamilton Corte-Real received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sandro Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sandro Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adão Liberato, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Ferreira got free with Teófilo Durães in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute, Mincaria's Paulo Campos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Paulo Campos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mincaria protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Paulo Campos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 41 minutes into the game, one of Mincaria:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Zacarias Vigário walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adão Liberato made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hamilton Corte-Real got free with Sandro Santos in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Mincaria's Ricardo Moutinho got a free kick in the 72nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lourenço Pinto during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mincaria! Adão Liberato blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sandro Santos having to make a save. Hamilton Corte-Real received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute.
