Afonso Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Pxoibas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Moniz came free, but Sandro Ávila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Pxoibas FC's Sabino Portela slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Afonso Ribeiro. That made the score 2-0 after 16 minutes of play. Pxoibas FC's Sandro Ávila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Garcia in the 20th minute of play. Jorge Viana hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Sabino Portela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
