Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Baltasar Vigário started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Carlao's goalkeeper Gabriel Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Rodrigues. Carlao's Gabriel Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltasar Vigário in the 4th minute of play. Basílio Fragoso was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 7 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, one of cavaquinhas fc:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for cavaquinhas fc. After a defensive mix-up in Carlao's zone, Alberto Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Andrade came out of the goal and Alberto Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flávio Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vicente Branco's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Flávio Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Dias in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Alberto Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. cavaquinhas fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flávio Mendonça having to interfere. Vicente Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flávio Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Carlao's Daniel Dias got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vicente Branco made a kick off. cavaquinhas fc's Flávio Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Branco in the 51st minute of play. Flávio Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Vicente Branco sent off a good shot on target. Vicente Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Flávio Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind cavaquinhas fc's goalkeeper Flávio Mendonça, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Carlao booed when cavaquinhas fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gastão Vilaça didn't get a good kick on the ball.
