The supporters of Carlao booed when SC Sousanil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Vítor Melo made a huge save. In the 29th minute, Daniel Dias reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vítor Melo. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 35th minute Amílcar Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Branco in the 60th minute of play forced SC Sousanil's goalkeeper Vítor Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
