When Laurentino Ribeiro came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the lusitano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laurentino Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the match, Afonso Viegas notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of lusitano's David Barros. David Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of lusitano booed when Pedrogam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Américo Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Xavier Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pedrogam's goalkeeper Xavier Ferro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Laurentino Ribeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xavier Ferro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laurentino Ribeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Pedrogam booed when lusitano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, lusitano's José Baião got a free kick in the 67th minute. Xavier Ferro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Granja, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute, Laurentino Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulo Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. David Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Osvaldo Seabra fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored lusitano's protests and gave Osvaldo Seabra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th minute, Osvaldo Seabra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
