Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Pacheco in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gastão Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gastão Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Pacheco in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Olhanense's Humberto Oliveira got a free kick in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Olhanense's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Câmara came free, but Joel Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olhanense's Luís Pacheco got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amílcar Ferreira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gastão Almeida. SC Olaia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Oliveira in the 31st minute of play forced SC Olaia's goalkeeper Gastão Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Pacheco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amílcar Ferreira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gastão Almeida. The audience was convinced that Luís Pacheco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gastão Almeida was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Luís Pacheco might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gastão Almeida. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Pacheco ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Humberto Oliveira made a nice solo performance in the 55th minute, and after some fine dribblings he sent off a powerful shot that went into the goal just inside the left post, 0-2. Olhanense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th match minute, SC Olaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Casado to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes SC Olaia got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Poças. The Olhanense fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Olhanense's Luís Pacheco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Joel Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentim Colaço in the 75th minute of the match. In the 78thth minute of the game Luís Pacheco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Olaia's Gastão Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The SC Olaia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gastão Almeida should have stopped the shot. Olhanense's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
