If Micael Bragança had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Januário Semedo in the 7th minute of the match. When Micael Bragança fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Clube Frielas's protests and gave Micael Bragança a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sport Clube Frielas getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Micael Bragança hit a great ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Vítor Leiria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Salsas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Leiria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, SC Salsas's goal looked a bit too open when Januário Semedo came free, but Paulo Freitas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gualter Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Leiria, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. José Bessa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Micael Bragança recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jorge Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Fernandes having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Sport Clube Frielas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudemiro Assunção to maneuver through the defense. SC Salsas's Sebastião Ferreira couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 44th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sport Clube Frielas. SC Salsas's Paulo Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Januário Semedo in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience was convinced that Micael Bragança's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Freitas was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. In the 58th minute, SC Salsas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Micael Bragança fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Vítor Leiria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Gualter Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Micael Bragança recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Clube Frielas. 77 minutes into the match, SC Salsas's goalkeeper Paulo Freitas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Januário Semedo. Micael Bragança struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Paulo Freitas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Clube Frielas. José Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Gualter Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gualter Fernandes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vítor Leiria's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. José Bessa spun around in front of the goal 88 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Sport Clube Frielas's goal. Vítor Leiria struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Gualter Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Salsas. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sport Clube Frielas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 95th minute. Penalty! The referee gave SC Salsas a penalty, 97 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sebastião Ferreira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sport Clube Frielas's Gualter Fernandes. 1-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sport Clube Frielas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Salsas.
