The supporters of Portal booed when Naval 1º de Maio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Madruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Cesário Sacramento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Amaral hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Inácio Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Trindade in the 31st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Trindade in the 32nd minute of play forced Naval 1º de Maio's goalkeeper Inácio Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Lopes was the one to do the kick off. Naval 1º de Maio's Inácio Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Trindade in the 53rd minute of play. Inácio Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Lopes in the 56th minute of the match. Josué Granja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Valente having to interfere. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Portal would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
