SC Cabo's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerónimo Palhares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Bruno Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 8 minutes into the match, SC Cabo's Bruno Abreu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jerónimo Palhares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jerónimo Palhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Abreu in the 9th minute of play. After 10 played minutes SC Troviscais got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Espinosa. When SC Cabo's Luís Pinho in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Troviscais's goalie prevented a goal. Bruno Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristiano Castro during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Cabo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Sérgio Alves, was totally fooled by SC Troviscais's Laureano Eanes, who 24 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 26th minute, Jorge Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viriato Fernandes during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Viriato Fernandes hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 29th minute, when SC Troviscais's Luís Nóbrega after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Sérgio Alves in SC Cabo's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. In the 31st minute, Lisandro Meireles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sérgio Alves. The goal made the score 3-0. 4-0 became the score in the 35th minute when Ivo Portugal elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Luís Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jerónimo Palhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bruno Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerónimo Palhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Abreu in the 43rd minute of play. When Telmo Espinosa fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Troviscais's protests and gave Telmo Espinosa a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Jerónimo Palhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bruno Abreu was the one to do the kick off. Palmiro Aguiar's late challenge caught a SC Cabo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Palmiro Aguiar helped the player get up and apologised. Rui Valente took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jerónimo Palhares. SC Troviscais's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Lisandro Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to SC Troviscais getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ivo Portugal hit a great ball. Jorge Mendes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jerónimo Palhares. SC Troviscais's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 65th match minute, SC Cabo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Pinho to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Luís Pinho fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of Jerónimo Palhares. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Abreu in the 68th minute of play forced SC Troviscais's goalkeeper Jerónimo Palhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Troviscais's goalkeeper Jerónimo Palhares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to SC Troviscais getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Caetano Aires hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caetano Aires during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 91 minutes into the match, Lisandro Meireles notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of SC Cabo's Sérgio Alves. Sérgio Alves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lisandro Meireles struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Sérgio Alves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Troviscais. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Troviscais fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Cabo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
