In the 17th minute, Telmo Espinosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jerónimo Palhares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rui Sá in the 20th minute. Jerónimo Palhares was a little too slow when Rui Sá got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 2-0. With a little luck, SC Troviscais's Jerónimo Palhares got control of the ball when Rui Sá tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Rui Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, José Moura fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jerónimo Palhares, passed just outside the right post. Cláudio Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lisandro Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. José Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lisandro Meireles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cogominho FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
