The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 11th minute, when G.R.C. de Faiares's Hélder Maia after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Jorge Anjos in Vidual's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Jorge Anjos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Steven in the 13th minute of play. Adelino Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute, G.R.C. de Faiares's Luis Steven ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorge Anjos. Jorge Anjos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jorge Anjos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Steven's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. With his leg Jorge Anjos managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when G.R.C. de Faiares's Adelino Ferreira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Luis Steven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jorge Anjos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of G.R.C. de Faiares booed when Vidual was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dércio Ramires didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Adelino Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Anjos having to interfere. Luis Steven took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jorge Anjos. Jorge Anjos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vidual's goalkeeper Jorge Anjos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adelino Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Anjos having to interfere. After 73 played minutes G.R.C. de Faiares got a freekick which was hit by Adelino Ferreira. Vidual's Tomé Henriques got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flávio Parente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Villiam Regin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The G.R.C. de Faiares fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when G.R.C. de Faiares's Adelino Ferreira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
