The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Óscar Bezerra during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alexandre Quintela made in the 10th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Manuel Garcia. After some careless play in the Amoreira FC defense, Máximo Novais kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Fontes. The Amoreira FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Fontes should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes into the game, Máximo Novais was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portelada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Amoreira FC the free kick. Máximo Novais hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. If Américo Ponte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Máximo Novais's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Fontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Américo Ponte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Américo Ponte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amoreira FC's Ricardo Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Máximo Novais in the 43rd minute of play. After 46 minutes, Alexandre Quintela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amoreira FC and the Portelada players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexandre Quintela hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Máximo Novais stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Portelada's Hipólito Domingos got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Vivaldo Taveira made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Aprígio Tomé sent off a good shot on target. An unexpected shot in the 63rd minute by Américo Ponte got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Américo Ponte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the game, Aprígio Tomé was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Amoreira FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portelada the free kick. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Amoreira FC! After some careless play in the Portelada defense, Américo Ponte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vivaldo Taveira. The Portelada fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vivaldo Taveira should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Portelada's Vivaldo Taveira got control of the ball when Américo Ponte tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Portelada support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
