The supporters of Ninho Do Açor F.C booed when SC Guilhova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abel Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Leal having to interfere. Gonçalo Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Marques in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Filipe Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ninho Do Açor F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arvid Odin made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Pedro Mota sent off a good shot on target. 39 minutes into the match, SC Guilhova's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Marques came free, but Gonçalo Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Abel Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Pereira kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After 46 played minutes Ninho Do Açor F.C got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Carvalho. Abel Ferreira, 47 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 52nd minute, Abel Marques fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Filipe Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute Abel Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Guilhova's goalkeeper Gonçalo Leal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 90 minutes, Cândido Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Guilhova and the Ninho Do Açor F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card.
