Júlio Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Félix Végh was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Vicente Melo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vicente Melo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 14thth minute of the game Rodrigo Miranda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ribalonga FC's Júlio Lopes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Félix Végh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Melo in the 16th minute of the match. Júlio Lopes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chaves Futebol Clube's Félix Végh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Chaves Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. After 47 played minutes Chaves Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Ferro. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodrigo Miranda made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Rodrigo Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chaves Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Miranda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 53 played minutes Ribalonga FC got a freekick which was hit by Marco Macedo. Júlio Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Oliveira in the 56th minute. When Jorge Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Chaves Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Oliveira couldn't finish the play. Jorge Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Júlio Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rodrigo Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chaves Futebol Clube's Félix Végh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Fernandes in the 68th minute of play. A collision led to Chaves Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Paulo Tavares hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Melo in the 72nd minute of play forced Chaves Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Félix Végh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Félix Végh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Oliveira got free with Júlio Lopes in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81st minute, Jorge Oliveira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chaves Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. 85 minutes into the match, Jorge Oliveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Júlio Lopes. Ribalonga FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Oliveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. If Jorge Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Rodrigo Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chaves Futebol Clube played a much better game than Ribalonga FC and deserved their victory. The Ribalonga FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
