The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Figueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Sá in the 15th minute of the match. Aveleda's Alexandre Figueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Gomes in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Sá in the 26th minute of play forced Aveleda's goalkeeper Alexandre Figueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Marco Quintas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute, Duarte Sá left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Saiceira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Alexandre Figueira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duarte Sá's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Aveleda's Alexandre Figueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Gomes in the 47th minute of play. After 49 minutes Aveleda's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Viriato Maia who took care of the corner kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Cardoso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Henrique Lameiras managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aveleda's supporters rose to their feet, but Henrique Lameiras was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Alves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Aveleda's zone, Vicente Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Figueira came out of the goal and Vicente Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Duarte Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre Figueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. When Henrique Lameiras fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aveleda's protests and gave Henrique Lameiras a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Saiceira booed when Aveleda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Lameiras didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute of the match, Duarte Sá got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alexandre Figueira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Nuno Ramalho's late challenge caught a SC Saiceira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nuno Ramalho helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of Aveleda:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Saiceira:s goal. Viriato Maia placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Duarte Sá's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Alexandre Figueira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Vicente Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Figueira having to interfere. If Duarte Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Gomes struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Alexandre Figueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Saiceira. When Luís Cardoso fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aveleda's protests and gave Luís Cardoso a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Cardoso hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. With his leg Alexandre Figueira managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when SC Saiceira's Duarte Sá fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 94 minutes, Luís Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aveleda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 95 played minutes SC Saiceira got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Esteves. The SC Saiceira supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Saiceira would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
