SC Comunhas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Duarte Sá was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 36th minute, SC Saiceira's Duarte Sá ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marco Morais. Marco Morais yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Eduardo Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cândido Abreu in the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute Cândido Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vicente Gomes was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Trindade couldn't finish the play.
