After a rather tough play, Carlao FC's Jacinto Paredes got a free kick in the 4th minute. With 8 minutes on the clock, Jacinto Paredes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Cândido Ramos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Stephan Anmerker made a huge save. Stephan Anmerker made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Cândido Ramos sent off a good shot on target. Stephan Anmerker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Catarino Anjos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Cruz's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Carlos Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carlao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Miranda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st minute Bernardo Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephan Anmerker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Valeja FC's Stephan Anmerker threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adolfo Ramos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Carlos Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Carlao FC's Stephan Anmerker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cândido Ramos in the 88th minute of play. Stephan Anmerker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Brito in the 91st minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Henrique Luz in the 95th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Carlao FC's João Aleixo. Carlos Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Catarino Anjos having to interfere. Valeja FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
