In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Mancelos's goalkeeper Rogério Sousa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. André Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Regalado having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Vladimiro Carmo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Catraia's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladimiro Carmo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rogério Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the match, SC Mancelos's goal looked a bit too open when João Lustosa came free, but Rogério Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Normando Gueifão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Afonso Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duarte Regalado was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. In the 41st minute Mariano Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte Regalado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, SC Catraia's João Lustosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogério Sousa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Óscar Lopes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rogério Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The SC Mancelos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Catraia were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonso Barros to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, João Lustosa put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rogério Sousa. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Catraia's João Lustosa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rogério Sousa. That made the score 0-3 after 66 minutes of play. 70 minutes into the match, SC Catraia's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Barros came free, but Duarte Regalado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Lustosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rogério Sousa having to make a save. After 79 played minutes SC Mancelos got a freekick which was hit by João Costa. When João Lustosa came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the SC Catraia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Lustosa couldn't finish the play. Rogério Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Lustosa in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimiro Carmo in the 95th minute of play forced SC Mancelos's goalkeeper Rogério Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Catraia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
