Jerónimo Eiró, 14 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The SC Catraia fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when SC Catraia's João Lustosa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. João Lustosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Portela having to interfere. If Virgílio Henriques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Vladimiro Carmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Cintra's Silvano Macieira got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Lustosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, SC Cintra's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimiro Carmo came free, but Vladimiro Portela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Amadeu Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Virgílio Henriques to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvano Macieira got free with Duarte Regalado in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in SC Catraia's zone, Virgílio Henriques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duarte Regalado came out of the goal and Virgílio Henriques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silvano Macieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Duarte Regalado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Normando Gueifão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Duarte Regalado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Henriques, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. When SC Catraia's Vladimiro Carmo in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duarte Regalado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Virgílio Henriques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. In the 91stth minute of the game João Lustosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Cintra's Vladimiro Portela was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Silvano Macieira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Duarte Regalado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 96th minute, Virgílio Henriques reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Duarte Regalado. The goal made the score 1-2.
