In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind DragonFaial's goalkeeper Zarco Delgado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zarco Delgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Azevedo in the 29th minute of the match. Lúcio Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zarco Delgado having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of DragonFaial:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Alvarinhos:s goal. If Afonso Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mateus Esparteiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zarco Delgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílcar Pedroso, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 64 minutes into the game, Lúcio Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Zarco Delgado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 70th minute, Alfredo Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miguel Bessa came out and tried to block the shot, but Mateus Esparteiro slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 84th minute. SC Alvarinhos's Lúcio Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Afonso Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Afonso Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zarco Delgado was relentless in the 98th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Alvarinhos had won after a very even match.
